In this 3-hour event, Megan will share her personal connection to protesting, healthcare justice, and art as activism. We will check out artwork, zines and photos on healthcare and disability activism. After our conversation, there will be open time to make art together.
There will be 3 art-making stations. A poster-making station, a community art project station, and an open art-making station. You can stay for as little or as long as you would like and make art in all the ways that are meaningful for you.
Access: There is one step into the entrance of Secret Riso Club. Inside, there are two large bathrooms without grab bars. This event will provide masks, verbal descriptions, plain language instructions, and Know Before You Go materials. There will be a large room with 2 tables for a work space. There will be a variety of art materials. There is a large room next to the event that can be visited for a quieter setting.

Getting There Accessible MTA Bus: Secret Riso Club 122 Central Ave. 11221 - The M train is not accessible. The L train has no nearby accessible stops. The B60 and B38 buses are accessible Bus.
The B60 Bus stops at Wilson/Jefferson. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk/roll with no incline with mostly even sidewalks. Wilson Ave. has little shade from trees. Make a right onto Troutman. The sidewalks are wide with some decline for large truck driveways and some nice tree shade. Make a left onto Central Ave. At Troutman and Central there is often store goods from a local shop along the edges of the sidewalk. There is nice tree shade on the Secret Riso Club side of the street. A tallish tree and a round bike rack are in front of the event space; a small park is across the street. Secret Riso Club is written on white letters on a red long sign above their 2 large windows and door.
The B38 Bus stops at Dekalb/Myrtle. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk/roll with no incline with mostly even sidewalks. Cross DeKalb Ave. onto Central Ave. and keep going for 3 1/2 blocks. Central has some shade from trees.Cross Willoughby Ave and you're almost there. A tallish tree and a round bike rack are in front of the event space; a small park is across the street. Secret Riso Club is written on white letters on a red long sign above their 2 large windows and door.
